Waymap and Plowman Craven partner up on trailblazing solutions for wayfinding and geospatial

Press release: London, 2 July 2026

Waymap, the personal navigation app that works indoors, outdoors and underground, and Plowman Craven, a global leader in geospatial surveying with over 60 years of expertise, have signed a partnership agreement to offer trailblazing solutions for wayfinding and geospatial to venues and infrastructure operators worldwide.

The partnership highlights the rapid growth of the global market for accurate digital representations of indoor and underground spaces, and the huge potential for providing new services – powered by these representations – to venue owners and operators.

Plowman Craven already handles LiDAR scanning for Waymap’s projects, helping to create the precise digital maps that enable Waymap’s app to guide users around large and complex indoor and underground spaces.
Waymap’s app is now live in prestigious venues across four continents, including public transport networks in Washington DC, Singapore and Los Angeles, Westfield London, Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, the Bullring retail destination in Birmingham, the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh, and government buildings in Dubai.

Waymap’s disruptive approach and Plowman Craven’s 60 years’ experience using “Waymap’s disruptive approach and Plowman Craven’s 60 years’ experience using cutting edge tech and deep global reach is a great fit,” said Celso Zuccollo, CEO of Waymap, “together we’ve been capturing geospatial data for our app, but there is so much more we can do with it. That data is a single source of truth which can power multiple use cases, such as virtual walk throughs, safety management and better user experiences.

Waymap and Plowman Craven have been delivering exciting new technology solutions together for clients for 18 months now,” added Zuccollo, “this partnership brings us even closer, confirming our joint leadership in exciting new markets which are growing fast.

“Plowman Craven has always been about using the best available technology to give clients a clearer picture of the assets they manage,” said David Locker, CEO of Plowman Craven. “Our work with Waymap takes that further, combining our geospatial expertise with navigation technology that genuinely changes how people experience complex buildings and spaces. For our asset management clients, that opens up entirely new services: customised indoor wayfinding, live-updating maps, and environments that work for everyone, including people with visual impairments.”

“The UK is the world leader in this kind of digital geospatial technology for buildings and venues,” added Locker, “and it’s increasingly relevant for a wide range of clients. Our work with Waymap offers something compelling and differentiated. We’re aligning on a market-leading idea that’s very in tune with Plowman Craven’s values.”

Plowman Craven is on a mission to digitise the built world, providing data that connects disciplines, informs design, and helps shape places that stand the test of time. The company has unrivalled expertise and offices across the UK, US, Australia and South-East Asia.

Waymap’s personal navigation app provides step-by-step audio and on-screen instructions for users, helping people find their way in large, complex environments, even indoors. It can walk users to individual shops at malls, seats within stadiums and consulting rooms within hospitals, and integrates travel and custom live feed information. More traditional navigation apps are generally not effective indoors because of their need for a GPS signal.

Waymap’s software development kit allows clients to house Waymap technology within their own apps. This means venue owners and operators can provide a customised solution under their own brand.
