At Plowman Craven, our Asset Management team thrives in a fast-moving environment and Bekki Ellis, Senior Project Manager, plays a central role in keeping everything on track.
Bekki joined the business over six years ago and has progressed through several roles, from Assistant Project Manager to her current senior position. What makes her journey stand out is that she entered the industry without a surveying background.
“It was a big learning curve, but you learn quickly. You grow into the role and start to understand how everything fits together,” Bekki says.
Today, she manages incoming projects, allocates resources, supports surveyors, and works closely with clients to ensure smooth delivery across high-volume portfolios.
She particularly enjoys managing portfolio-based projects delivered under tight deadlines.
“I really like that challenge, lots of properties, one client, fast turnaround.”
One of Bekki’s standout achievements includes delivering a major retail portfolio project within a six-week programme, a demanding timeframe that required strong organisation and clear communication.
When it comes to working at Plowman Craven, Bekki highlights the culture and flexibility.
“The people are brilliant, and flexible working has made such a positive difference to work–life balance.”
Outside of work, she enjoys horse riding, walking, and has completed the Thames Path Macmillan Mighty Hike (26 miles), demonstrating her determination and perseverance.
Her advice to those considering a similar career path is simple:
“Focus on developing strong project management skills. You don’t need to know the industry inside out on day one, that comes with time.”
