Another key date in the events calendar this year was MIPIM in Cannes, France, one of the world’s leading real estate conferences. The event brings together investors, developers, advisors, and industry leaders from across the globe. Therefore, it is an important opportunity for Plowman Craven to strengthen relationships. It also helps us raise our profile and stay closely connected to market activity.
Representing the business were Dwayne Rapley, Strategic Account Manager, Andy Norris, Consultant, Asset Managementand Jim Gregory, Managing Director, Asset Management. They travelled to Cannes early Tuesday and returned late Thursday. This was after several packed days of meetings, networking, and events across the city.
Over the course of three days, the team introduced the business more than 300 times. They reconnected with existing clients while also meeting a wide range of prospective partners and collaborators. As with many major industry events, the formal conference programme is only part of the story. The wider programme of fringe events, informal meetings, and networking opportunities plays a vital role in building meaningful industry connections.
Jim Gregory, Managing Director, Asset Management, reflected on the experience:
“I had a great time at MIPIM this year catching up with existing clients, meeting new ones, and making plenty of new connections. There was real energy in the city, an incredible experience, albeit a tiring one. The fringe is absolutely where it’s at; great events, strong 1:1 meetings, and lots of follow-ups already booked. Now looking ahead to UKREiiF in only eight weeks’ time.”
The event has already generated early traction. A contact Dwayne met during the conference from WHP Limited has since requested a proposal for structural monitoring at Baltic Studios in Liverpool. This demonstrates how conversations started in Cannes can quickly translate into tangible opportunities.
Beyond immediate leads, MIPIM continues to play an important role in reinforcing Plowman Craven’s presence in the real estate sector. The event provides a valuable platform to maintain relationships, showcase our expertise, and identify emerging opportunities across the market.
With strong momentum from Cannes, the team is already preparing for the next major industry gathering. UKREiiF takes place in Leeds in just eight weeks’ time.
