Plowman Craven marked a significant step in its growing partnership with Odfjell Technology this month. The team joined their Wallace Facility Open Day as part of a growing partnership between the two companies.
Held over two days, the event brought together operators, engineering firms and drilling specialists from across the energy industry. As a result, Plowman Craven had the chance to showcase its combined UAS, inspection and geospatial capabilities to an audience of decision-makers.
Technology on show
Visitors to the Plowman Craven stand saw a range of technology in action, including the Elios 3 confined-space inspection drone, DJI’s M350 and M4T platforms, and the Crysound CRY8124 acoustic camera. With support from Odfjell’s on-site HSE team, the team was able to run live demonstrations of the Elios 3 throughout the event. Therefore, attendees gained a real sense of how the technology performs in practice.
Plowman Craven also partnered with SeekOps at the event, acting as their designated drone service provider and helping showcase SeekOps’ methane-detection technology to visitors. The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. Moreover, this relationship continues to grow across European markets.

Building relationships across the industry
The event provided valuable face-to-face time with key figures across the sector, including senior representatives from Odfjell Technology. These representatives expressed enthusiasm about deepening the partnership further – including opportunities in Norway, South America and Africa.
Conversations also took place with organisations spanning drilling, renewables, geothermal and defence. As a result, this reflected the breadth of industries where Plowman Craven’s drone-enabled inspection and geospatial data are becoming increasingly valuable.
A differentiated offering
A recurring theme throughout the event was the value of Plowman Craven’s combined approach – pairing drone inspection with scanning, surveying, mapping and wider asset-management outputs. For an industry used to working with traditional drone service providers, this broader offering proved to be a clear point of differentiation. Furthermore, it opened conversations that went beyond inspection alone and into long-term asset management support.
Looking ahead
Odfjell Technology has confirmed plans to run the Open Day again next year, with Plowman Craven already invited to return. For Plowman Craven, the event represented a successful first outing for the year in the oil and gas events landscape. As such, it helped build brand awareness, strengthen key partnerships, and lay the groundwork for further collaboration across the energy sector.
