Regardless of the size or complexity of a project, our clients trust us to provide a service that goes beyond their expectations.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Role Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>We are seeking an I&amp;M Technical Manager to join our Smart Monitoring division, supporting the delivery of monitoring solutions across various projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical professional with a background in instrumentation, automated monitoring or engineering systems who enjoys combining hands on technical work with project coordination and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n\n<p>You will be responsible for the technical design, installation, commissioning and ongoing performance of monitoring systems, ensuring reliable data collection and transmission from site to monitoring platforms. Working closely with project teams and site personnel, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality monitoring solutions, resolving technical challenges and developing the technical capability of our Smart Monitoring division.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Be Doing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Managing the technical delivery of monitoring systems across multiple projects, coordinating with project and site teams to ensure successful implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Developing monitoring system designs and technical solutions to meet project requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting and undertaking the installation, commissioning and maintenance of monitoring equipment and instrumentation.<\/li>\n<li>Configuring and integrating sensors, data loggers, telemetry systems and software platforms to ensure reliable data collection and transmission.<\/li>\n<li>Diagnosing technical faults, resolving system issues and identifying opportunities to improve performance and reliability.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining quality assurance standards, technical documentation, testing records and as-built information.<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to the development of new technologies, processes and ways of working to improve efficiency and technical delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A background in engineering, surveying or a related technical discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Experience within construction, infrastructure, automated monitoring or a similar technical environment.<\/li>\n<li>Practical experience installing and commissioning instrumentation, electrical or technical systems.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of geotechnical or structural instrumentation and automated monitoring systems used in civil engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with telemetry, IoT systems, data acquisition platforms or monitoring software.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and system requirements, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to support site activities and project demands outside standard working hours when required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Python scripting and cloud based platforms such as AWS or Azure would be advantageous.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Instrumentation and Monitoring Technical Manager Introduction As one of the largest measurement survey companies in the UK, Plowman Craven provides a range of services to the property, rail and infrastructure markets.
