Build a Consultancy Offering.<\/h2>\n\n<p>We are looking for an experienced <strong>Building Survey Consultant<\/strong> to lead and grow our building survey consultancy within the Asset Management division.<\/p>\n\n<p>This is a pivotal role combining hands-on technical delivery, client advisory expertise, and service line development. You will take ownership of building survey projects from instruction to final reporting, while shaping the future direction of our consultancy capability.<\/p>\n\n<p>You\u2019ll act as a trusted adviser to clients, helping them make informed, commercially sound decisions across their property portfolios. At the same time, you\u2019ll play a key role in developing proposals, identifying new opportunities, and building the foundations of an in-house surveying team. This is an opportunity to shape a core service offering, not just deliver within one.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You\u2019ll Be Doing<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leading and delivering building surveys across fabric, structure and building services.<\/li>\n<li>Advising clients on proportionate, risk-balanced survey scopes and methodologies.<\/li>\n<li>Managing projects end-to-end, ensuring quality, clarity and commercial alignment.<\/li>\n<li>Producing high-quality reports to support asset management strategies and technical due diligence.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating and managing external survey suppliers to ensure consistency and value.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting business development activity through technical insight, proposal input and client conversations.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying opportunities to extend survey scopes and add value.<\/li>\n<li>Contributing to the development of an in-house building survey team as the service grows.<\/li>\n<li>Driving best practice and continuous improvement in survey delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What We\u2019re Looking For<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum 5 years\u2019 experience in building surveying.<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical knowledge across building fabric, structure and services.<\/li>\n<li>Confident managing projects and engaging directly with clients.<\/li>\n<li>Commercial awareness, comfortable contributing to fee scoping and opportunity identification.<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience producing clear, high-quality survey reports.<\/li>\n<li>Experience coordinating external consultants or suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Full UK driving licence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>If you\u2019re a commercially minded building surveyor looking to step into a role where you can influence, shape and grow a service line, we\u2019d like to hear from you.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u200b<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Building Survey Consultant Location: Harpenden or LondonReporting to: Managing Director \u2013 Asset Management Lead.
