We are looking for an Instrumentation & Monitoring Technical Coordinator to join our Smart Monitoring team. This is a key role focused on strengthening the technical delivery of monitoring and instrumentation projects, particularly within automated monitoring systems.

Role Purpose

You will play a pivotal role in coordinating the technical delivery of monitoring systems, ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You’ll:

  • Coordinate technical delivery across monitoring projects, bridging design, site execution, and data systems
  • Support installation, commissioning, and optimisation of instrumentation and monitoring systems
  • Act as the technical point of contact between project teams, site teams, and technical leadership
  • Contribute to improving technical standards, processes, and delivery consistency

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the technical delivery of monitoring systems across multiple projects
  • Plan and support site activities including installation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • Support and undertake installation, testing, and troubleshooting of monitoring systems
  • Assist in the development of monitoring system designs and technical solutions
  • Support integration of sensors, data loggers, telemetry, and data acquisition systems
  • Ensure monitoring systems are correctly installed, configured, and fully operational
  • Validate accuracy and reliability of monitoring data outputs
  • Produce clear technical documentation, installation guides, and system records
  • Maintain quality standards and contribute to QA processes across projects
  • Identify inefficiencies and support continuous improvement of systems and workflows
  • Support reliable data flow from site to monitoring platforms
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and the Technical Manager to deliver project objectives

About You

Essential:

  • Background in engineering, surveying, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or monitoring environments
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation, sensors, or monitoring systems
  • Experience supporting or coordinating site-based activities
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail into practical delivery
  • Valid UK driving licence with access to own vehicle


Desirable:

  • Experience with automated or geotechnical monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with telemetry, IoT, or data acquisition platforms
  • Basic scripting or coding (e.g. Python)
  • Awareness of cloud-based systems (AWS or Azure)
