The project required independent verification of apartment and parking space areas across the development, providing assurance that the completed units aligned with the approved design intent and contractual requirements. Accurate area validation was critical to mitigating the risk of financial penalties associated with discrepancies between designed and constructed floor areas.
Delivered as a long-term phased engagement, Plowman Craven supported the client throughout the construction lifecycle, deploying a consistent and repeatable measurement process as sections of the building reached completion. This approach provided certainty at key stages of the build and ensured reliable, auditable data was available to inform commercial decisions and final handover.
The project was delivered over a series of nine site visits, aligned with the construction programme as apartments became ready for measurement. Each visit involved detailed on-site measurement, followed by the issue of an updated report documenting the verified areas.
This phased approach allowed discrepancies to be identified early, providing the contractor with timely insight and the opportunity to take corrective action before project completion. A close working relationship with the client’s project manager ensured visits were efficiently planned, minimising abortive travel and ensuring apartments were ready for survey on arrival.
At the end of the programme, all interim data was consolidated into a single, definitive report, providing a clear and auditable ‘single source of truth’ for the completed development.
