Technical Sales Consultant – Monitoring

​We are looking for a Technical Sales Consultant to help grow our Smart Monitoring business. This role offers the opportunity to build strong client relationships, develop new opportunities and contribute to the continued expansion of a specialist and rapidly growing area of the business.

Role Purpose: You will play a pivotal role in expanding our monitoring services and supporting revenue growth.

  • Build strong relationships with new and existing clients within the monitoring and infrastructure sectors
  • Identify opportunities to grow accounts through cross selling and upselling services
  • Manage inbound enquiries while proactively developing new business opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with the Smart Monitoring team to support business growth
  • Provide technical sales guidance to clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales engagement to project delivery teams


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders
  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach and market engagement
  • Prepare proposals, quotations and bid responses aligned to client requirements
  • Identify cross selling opportunities across Plowman Craven services
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and account information within the CRM system
  • Analyse sales performance, trends and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure solutions meet client needs
  • Support the development of sales strategies aligned to business objectives
  • Ensure a smooth handover of project information to delivery teams following contract award
  • Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve client experience


About You:

  • Experience selling monitoring, surveying or related technical services
  • Strong understanding of client relationship management and consultative sales
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage opportunities and client data
  • Experience within infrastructure, construction, engineering or geospatial sectors
  • Ability to identify opportunities for cross selling and account growth
  • Commercially driven with a strong client focused mindset
  • ​Confident communicator both face to face and over the phone
  • ​Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities
  • ​Self motivated with a proactive approach to business development
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into clear client value
  • ​Collaborative approach to working with operational and technical teams
