Plowman Craven Strengthens Australian Operations with Senior Surveyor Appointment

Plowman Craven has strengthened its growing international operations with the appointment of Chris Radcliff. He joins as Senior Surveyor in the company’s Australian Operations team.

Based in Australia, Chris brings nearly a decade of surveying experience and a strong technical background to the role of Senior Surveyor. His appointment supports Plowman Craven’s continued expansion across the region. Furthermore, it reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality geospatial services globally.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from the University of New South Wales. After completing his studies, he chose a hands-on career path in surveying. He started as an assistant and progressed through the profession by gaining extensive field experience. This experience prepared him for the responsibilities required for the position of Senior Surveyor.

Throughout his career, Chris has developed expertise across a wide range of survey disciplines. These include conventional topographic and utility surveys, construction set-out and high-precision reality capture. In his work as a surveyor at senior level, he has taken on a variety of demanding projects. These assignments have required both leadership and technical skills.

One of his largest construction projects involved delivering full construction set-out for two six-storey buildings at Anglicare in Taren Point, Sydney. More recently, he has specialised in capture work on several major and high-profile sites across Australia. These include the Reserve Bank of Australia building in Melbourne, the State Library of New South Wales and the Australian Museum.

In his new role at Plowman Craven, Chris will act as Technical Lead for survey operations in Australia. Notably, the Senior Surveyor expertise will support projects involving laser scanning, construction set-out and topographic surveying.

Describing himself as a “problem solver” and “firefighter”, Chris thrives on tackling complex challenges and delivering practical solutions for clients. As a senior, surveyor roles often demand this problem-solving mindset.

His appointment marks another step forward in strengthening Plowman Craven’s technical capability and international presence. This is particularly significant across Australia’s growing infrastructure, heritage and construction sectors, where Senior Surveyor roles are crucial.

Welcoming Chris to the team, the company said it is excited to see him take the next step in his career. At the same time, he will support the continued growth of its Australian operations as Senior Surveyor.
