Land Surveyor

Role Overview
As a Land Surveyor, you will support nationwide projects across North America, working in diverse environments and contributing to the delivery of high accuracy geospatial data. You will be hands on in the field while also taking on technical leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior surveyors and supporting project coordination.
This role offers the opportunity to work with industry leading technologies such as terrestrial and kinematic laser scanning, NavVis VLX, HP SitePrint, Total Stations, and advanced CAD software.
This role would suit a motivated surveyor who is confident in both field operations who is looking to grow within a leading UK based geospatial company, contributing to internationally delivered projects while being part of a highly innovative and collaborative organisation.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage control networks and closed loop traverses using Total Stations (Leica preferred)
- Use established control networks to carry out laser scanning activities and perform setting out using manual methods or HP SitePrint technology7
- Undertake terrestrial and kinematic laser scanning (NavVis VLX), particularly on large industrial facilities
- Carry out high-accuracy setting out in line with project specifications and Statements of Work
- Process, interpret, and deliver survey data using CAD and geospatial software
- Ensure quality assurance procedures are followed and produce detailed, high-standard survey reports
- Coordinate and lead fieldwork activities, including logistics, data capture, and on-site health and safety compliance
- Provide technical updates and support to project teams and clients, attending meetings where required
- Mentor and support junior surveyors, providing on-the-job training and development guidance
- Stay up to date with emerging surveying technologies and apply innovative approaches to project delivery
- Support leadership with estimates and proposals, contributing technical solutions to meet client needs
You Will Have
- Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- ​Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Certified Survey Technician certification preferred
- ​Valid clean driving licence
- ​Strong experience with surveying equipment including GPS, total stations, and laser scanning systems
- ​Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other geospatial processing software
- ​Willingness to travel and work across different states within North America
- ​Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy
- ​Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ​Ability to mentor and support junior team members
- ​Strong independent working ability with sound judgement and critical thinking skills
