From Junior Surveyor to Principal Consultant: 18 Years at Plowman Craven
At Plowman Craven, our people are the heart of everything we do. Bav Naran is one of those people. He is a Principal Consultant in our Asset Management team, whose career journey shows what’s possible with curiosity, commitment and opportunity.
Bav joined the business in 2007 as a Junior Surveyor. Over the past 18 years, he’s worked across surveying, project management and client-facing roles. Therefore, he has built a broad understanding of how projects are delivered from start to finish.
“I’ve done every role in the team,” Bav explains. “That experience gives me confidence now. You can’t sell something unless you truly understand how it’s delivered.”
In his current role, Bav focuses on scoping, quoting and winning work. His approach is simple: listen first. “Clients don’t always know exactly what they need, so it’s about patience, responsiveness and attention to detail,” he says. “That’s how we make sure every project is set up for success.”
Bav thrives in a fast-paced environment. His team handles a high volume of quotes each month. Notably, his personal record is just eight minutes from enquiry to quotation. “Speed is important, but accuracy and client care come first,” he adds.
Some highlights from his career include surveying shopping centres in Abu Dhabi and large-scale projects at Canary Wharf and Regent Street. Along the way, Bav has seen Plowman Craven evolve, with new technologies, systems and processes. However, the trust and support within the business remain constant.
Outside of work, Bav is a proud dad of two children and enjoys family time, Lego building, travel (where possible). “My family is my biggest inspiration,” he says. “They keep me focused in everything I do.”
Bav’s journey shows that with hands-on experience, technical expertise and a client-first approach, a career at Plowman Craven can grow and evolve in exciting ways.
