Zoe McLeod: 21 Years of Innovation, Support, and People
At Plowman Craven, our team is our strength and few embody this more than Zoe McLeod. Joining as a temporary administrator on a rail project over two decades ago, Zoe’s journey has been anything but ordinary.
From coordinating surveyors at train stations to managing a specialist business support team and overseeing all our systems, her career is a masterclass in growth, adaptability, and innovation.
Zoe laughs when recalling her early days:
“I came in as a temp, and I never thought I’d still be here 21 years later. But I stayed because the people make it, and the opportunities just kept coming.”
Her role today spans managing systems, triaging queries, and ensuring operational efficiency across teams.
“I do everything I can to make processes run smoothly, so people can focus on their work. I want teams to be self-sufficient and empowered.”
Zoe has supported a wide array of projects, from the Houses of Parliament restoration to King’s Cross redevelopment. She also fondly remembers film projects:
“I stood in the Harry Potter classroom set and even helped scan Natalie Portman for V for Vendetta. Those are experiences you don’t forget!”
When asked what makes Plowman Craven different, Zoe doesn’t hesitate:
“It’s the people, the variety of work we do, and how strong we are in innovation.”
Her advice for aspiring business support professionals is clear:
“Be curious. Challenge the status quo. Learn, ask questions, and think about how processes could work better.”
Outside the office, Zoe’s passion for the arts, sport, and charity shines through. She’s an avid theatre goer, a former contemporary dancer, and leads the KidsOut Giving Tree, bringing festive cheer to children in need.
