The Glades Shopping Centre is Bromley’s principal retail centre, accommodating more than 140 stores alongside cafés and restaurants. As a key asset within the local retail landscape, the centre requires accurate and up-to-date spatial data to support leasing, asset management and ongoing operational change.

When Capital Shopping Centres required support with the management of the estate, Plowman Craven was appointed to provide a comprehensive area measurement service across the shopping centre.

The brief focused on creating a reliable digital record of floor areas and plans that could be used confidently for leasing and statutory purposes.

The Glades presented several estate management challenges:

  • The need for consistent Net Internal Area and Gross Internal Area calculations
